The large cosmopolitan town of Gandia is just a five minutes’ drive and is the largest town in La Safor with a population of around 80.000 habitants. Gandia remains to be very traditional and very Spanish, not spoiled by the influence of International tourism.The centre of the town enjoys a long, wide, beautiful tree lined Paseo which is super cool in the summer months under the natural shade, a great place to stop and have a drink in one of the many cafes or bar / restaurants. Within Gandia are endless shops of all varieties, chain stores, designer stores, supermarkets, banks, notaries, lawyers, nursery, primary and secondary schools, university, British school, large sports complex’s, hypermarkets, shopping and leisure centres, weekly street market, Churches, Museums and Palace’s, and many historic squares, town parks and gardens just to sit down and relax. Many of the streets in Gandia are now pedestrianized ensuring a lovely clean pollution free environment and it is a truly delightful experience to stroll around the town. Off the Paseo is the picturesque Calle Mayor (main street) with endless shops and cafes to choose from to sit and people watch.

Gandia boasts a magnificent award-winning blue flag sandy beach resort which is approx. 1 mile from the town and offers many hotels, lots of amenities including supermarkets, a variety of shops, many bars and restaurants to choose from, discotecas for the teenagers, fun fair for the children, Casino for the adults, health centre, etc. There is also a Club Nautico and Marina here which is open to the general public and offers a very good restaurant serving the fresh catch of the day.

During the long summer months Gandia beach resort is buzzing, it is superbly vibrant as many Spanish families from inland towns own beach apartments and come here for their holidays. Even with all these extra families the resort boasts the necessary facilities to home the visitors and never becomes overcrowded.

Gandia is approx. 70kms south of Valencia (50 mins drive) or 125kms north of Alicante (1hr 15mins drive). The A7 motorway provides easy access to either airports or there is the main N332 coastal road for a more picturesque journey.
The main line RENFE train station is also located in the centre of the town and provides an excellent service to Valencia city, the journey takes approx. 1 hour and travels through beautiful country side filled with endless orange groves, vast rice fields and the National Park of Albufera with huge wetlands and lake.
