available to buy in the shops.
The
main market town of Gandia is a 15 minute scenic drive down the
hillside on a newly upgraded, good but twisty road, which then
continues through the vast and picturesque flat orange groves. Gandia
provides all amenities including large new shopping centers,
supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, schools, general hospital and
current building of a large new hospital on the outskirts, sports
complexes, weekly market etc. Gandia also boasts an award winning
golden sandy beach that is the no. 1 resort for Spanish tourism.
There is the Club Nautico and Marina to be found here plus many
popular bars, restaurants and disco's. The fishing port of Gandia is a
short stroll from the playa and is the home of many more good
restaurants, plus a small harbor with colorful fishing boats bringing
in their daily catch to be served at one of the restaurants.
The
large market town of Oliva is approx. 25 min drive and here one can
also find many amenities, including a quiet sandy beach resort with
Club Nautico and Marina, and just south of the town is the superb
Oliva Nova Golf Complex with 18 hole course designed by Seve
Ballesteros. There is also the ***** Hotel with many amenities
including Health Spa.
Heading in the opposite direction from Barx is the busy town of Simat
de Valldigna and Tavernes which again provide many amenities. It is a
truly magnificent 10 min drive down the mountainside with breath
taking scenery for miles and miles over the vast orange groves and
country side below to the nearby sea.
