This thriving small town provides many amenities, which are not obvious at first. These include a large Mercadonna supermarket, a wide variety of small shops, bar / restaurants, banks, large health clinic, chemist, good primary and secondary schools, twice weekly street market selling locally grown produce, hardware, clothes etc., large sports ground, tennis courts, fronton court, swimming pool with its picturesque location alongside the historic Ermita perched on the hillside, with peaceful viewpoint over looking the town and orange groves to nearby sea at Gandia. 

Villalonga and the surrounding National Park area are very popular with outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, walkers, rock climbers, off roaders, etc. The town is well known for its fresh spring mountain drinking water, which locals come from neighboring villages to collect their supply from one of the many fountains found within the town. This is much better than what you can buy in the shops!! And free!! The town also still boasts an ancient laundry (recently refurbished) where fresh icy cold spring mountain water runs quickly through the stone troughs, and surprisingly some of the elderly ladies of the village still use it keeping the historic tradition of the town alive. 
La Reprimala, a small neighboring sleepy village is a mile from the town and the river Serpis flows through this small hamlet, it is also a popular mountain water collection point and also houses some fine bar / restaurants popular with locals from Villalonga.

A 10 - 15 minute drive (5 miles) from Villalonga is Gandia which is the main town in La Safor with all facilities which can't be found in Villalonga, plus a large general hospital. There is also an award winning sandy beach resort with Club Nautico and Marina. Gandia is the number 1 coastal resort for Spanish tourism with families from inland towns owning second homes here for holiday and summer use, they flock to the coast to escape the heat in the interior. Yet surprisingly, international tourism is not to be found here, the orange grove industry keeps this at bay which also ensures this is a safe and mainly  residential environment. There are numerous blue flag unspoilt sandy beaches along our coast, all within 15 mins drive from the property. 


The Oliva Nova Golf Complex is a 25 min drive and is located on a virgin sand dune protected beach just south of Oliva town. The 18 hole golf course was designed by Seve Ballesteros plus there is a driving range, club house open to the general public, small shopping complex, good restaurants, swimming pools and health spa. The complex is often visited by international football teams who come to train here as there are numerous pitches at the entrance to the complex. They take advantage of our very mild winters and micro climate.
