Location Located within the village of Piles which is a very friendly and lovely small village nicely situated and conveniently located between the two main towns of Gandia and Oliva. Piles village really does not deserve its unfortunate name, it is all flat, boasts traditional and picturesque historic streets and churches and provides many local amenities including numerous small shops, large new supermarket, numerous bar / restaurants, banks, schools, sports facilities, doctors, weekly street market selling local produce etc. 

 

Beaches The beach of Piles is approx 1 mile from the town (20 min walk) and the sandy beach is very quiet and tranquil throughout most of the year fantastic for long walks, sailing, surfing, horse riding along the waters edge in the warm winter sunshine. The area livens up in the summer months and many local families as well as  families from the inland towns such as Xativa and Madrid come to the beach to spend the long summer months and escape the heat experienced in the interior. There are very good bar restaurants and many small shops providing facilities on the beach plus a weekly market.

 

Nearby towns  Amenities and facilities which can not be found in the village are just a short drive away at either of the two main towns of Gandia or Oliva which are both on the coast and boast Club Nauticos and Marinas. There is a regular local bus service from the beach to the town and then on to Oliva and Gandia. Gandia is the main town of La Safor and offers numerous shopping centers, historical buildings, schools, colleges, university, general hospital, hypermarkets, supermarkets and an array of designer and chain store shops., there is also a weekly market. The port of Gandia is also filled with amenities and the colorful fishing boats are a sight to be seen with their daily catch which will be later served in one of the sea side restaurants. The beach of Gandia is an award winning blue flag beach and is the no. 1 resort for Spanish tourism. Here again are many amenities including lots of bars, restaurants, night clubs, small shops which line the very wide sandy beach.

 

Golf  Also nearby is Oliva which is the second largest town of La Safor, it is just a few minutes drive south of the village and provides many more amenities not found in Piles. A further 4kms south of the town is the Oliva Nova Golf Complex with ***** Hotel resort and 18 hole course designed by Seve Ballesteros. This also boasts a beautiful virgin sand dune beach setting, the club house overlooks the course and is open to the general public and there is a popular restaurant with swimming pools and a health spa also located there.
