Locals come from neighboring villages to collect their supply from one of the many fonts found within the town. It is also an area popular with outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, walkers, rock climbers, cyclists, off roaders, etc. as it is located at the foot of the magnificent Safor mountain range and on the edge of the vast national park which houses the river Serpis. 

The nearest golf course is the Oliva Nova Golf Complex with 18 hole course designed by Seve Ballesteros, this is a 15 - 20 minute drive and boasts a beautiful virgin sand dune beach setting. The hotel facilities here are open to the public and offer superb restaurants with swimming pools and health spa plus a small commercial center. The club house overlooks the course and is a very popular 19th hole.
