Location The area of La Llacuna is undiscovered by many but very well known, visited and loved by the locals it remains un spoilt. This hill side region  is a stunning 3 mile / 10 minute drive up the hillside on a very good if rather bendy road behind the busy town of Villalonga. Once at the top the area is flat and the feeling experienced is like being a long way from the modern world and civilization, and once discovered this becomes an area which the peace and tranquility and friendly locals just draws you back on many occasions. Here you will find a large selection of villas some being large and very grand and others being in need of a little / or allot of TLC giving the are its own unique individuality. All of these properties are scattered throughout the vast and fertile greenery which fills La Llacuna. It is quite hard to believe that there are so many properties here unless an in depth drive around of the area is undertaken. There are also a few very popular bar / restaurants the best of which is moments stroll and enjoys a constant stream of locals throughout the year coming to dine the traditonal dishes both lunch time and in the evenings.

From Llacuna itself the road continues into the virgin mountainside and there are off road tracks to the inland town of L'Orcha and a fork off along this route leads down to the beautiful "Valle de Las Gallinas" towards Pego. Both routes offer absolutely breath taking scenery (a 4x4 vehicle or off road motor cycle are recommended). However the country lane to L'Orcha has undergone an amazing transformation having a new road laid which stretches for 5 kms over the mountain tops and the journey is now suitable for normal cars is much quicker and more comfortable.

The drive down from La Llacuna to Villalonga offers magnificent scenery for miles and miles over the vast orange groves below of La Safor, the historic castle at Forna that you feel almost able to touch is very visible, as is the distant sea (approx. 6 miles as the crow flies) and the long coast line. The elevated location ensures breezy days and the summer is pleasantly cooler therefore in the summer months this whole area is buzzing with locals enjoying their long awaited holidays. The area has recently had new roads laid after the insertion of electricity cables which have been brought to the area. Mains drinking water is supplied from the town of Villalonga below and this water is noted to be the best in the whole area.
