This
is an extremely lovely and very traditional village house which boasts an absolutely fantastic location
on the Ancient and extremely picturesque Calle La Hoz within the historic town
of Oliva.
This is the oldest street in the town, and certainly without a doubt the prettiest with
its amazing Moorish characteristics, there are split level front patio
areas to many of the houses. This narrow rustic street was not constructed
for traffic nor motor vehicles of modern times, in its day the passing of
donkeys into the houses to be bedded down for the night within the rear corals was a regular sight. Having no car access
to the front doors of the properties on La Hoz, this ensures what remains to
be an extremely
quiet situation that is just a few minutes walk from all of the amenities and
the hustle and bustle of the new town.
In
the new part of Oliva town one can find all amenities necessary including many
shops, supermarkets, bar / restaurants, schools, doctors, large health clinic, sports centre, swimming pools,
weekly street market selling hardware locally grown produce which is
astonishingly cheap etc.
The
peaceful sand dune unspoilt beach of Oliva is a few minutes drive from the town or a
25 - 30 min walk and there is a regular local bus service between the town
and the playa. The sandy beach also boasts its own Club Nautico and Marina
with swimming pool and fine restaurant offering specialty dishes with locally
caught sea food. The Oliva Nova Golf Complex is a 5 min drive south of
the town with 18 hole course and driving range designed by Seve Ballesteros.
There is a popular restaurant with swimming pool here and the club house
is open to the public and overlooks the course, the golf resort also boasts
a beautiful beach setting and there is a health spa for relaxing.
This
property has just recently been reformed and its main features and traditional
character have been respected as much as possible. There are many new features
adding to the charm including some exposed stone walling, dark wooden floorboards, dark
pine windows and doors, heavy beam across the bedroom ceiling with original
trunk shape and recess arches for display. There are display shelving's
built into the lounge around the fire place with iron wood burning stove,
some rustic floor tiling, beamed ceilings and a very wide heavy door leads
from the lounge into the kitchen. In the kitchen are natural stone seats
as the house is built onto the actual rock. There is a picturesque good
sized private patio area with rock garden housing an ancient nispro tree
and grape vine. The property has new electric's and plumbing etc. and is
excellent throughout, the kitchen would benefit from some further work
to provide more units and the front wall of the house is still to be painted.
This is an exceptionally rustic style house and its character and cozy accommodation briefly comprises of:
Ground
floor: Lounge / dining room, store room, kitchen, internal private patio
with rock garden, shower room and a large bathroom / laundry room to the
rear.
First
floor: Master bedroom 1 with office area or dressing area with access to
a sun terrace. Bedroom 2 is at the rear of the house and access is via
an open pine steep staircase from the ground floor bath room.
